This is a perfect combination to explore two of the southern parks in Tanzania.

Mikumi National Park derives its name from a palm tree called Borassus palm which grows there. The park has variety of wild life including “the Big 5” and can be easily seen.

Ruaha National Park is one of the country’s most outstanding wilderness area. It is the second largest National Park containing largest population of Elephants. The name Ruaha was derived from the Hehe word called “Luhava” meaning the great river.

Day 1 – Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

Pick up from Hotel in Dar es Salaam early morning 5am, drive to Mikumi National Park which will take us about 5 – 6 hours depending on the traffic. Hot breakfast will be served on the way. Arrive at Mikumi National Park check-in, and have a lunch break at the park. Start game drive late noon until evening 6pm. Heading to the hotel/lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 – Full day Game drive at Mikumi

Wake up early morning, have breakfast around 6:30am, start game drive at Mikumi National Park full day until 5pm, then head over to Maasai Boma for cultural tour. Then head to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Full Game Drive at Mikumi

Wake up early morning, have breakfast around 6:30am, start game drive at Mikumi National Park full day until sunset, Then head to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – Drive from Mikumi to Ruaha National Park

Wake up early morning, have breakfast around 6:30am, start driving to Ruaha National Park. Arrive in Ruaha check in at the selected hotel and have lunch. You will be picked for late afternoon game drive until sunset. Then taken to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 – Full game Drive in Ruaha National Park.

Wake up early morning, have breakfast around 6:30 am and start full day game drive. Around 1pm you will have lunch break at the park picnic site then continue game drive until 6pm, transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 – Walking Safari and Half Game Drive

Wake up early morning, have breakfast around 6:30 am and start walking safari for about 3 hours. You will be accompanied by guide and rangers for safety. After Walking Safari, you will be taken back to the hotel for break while waiting for lunch. After Lunch you will be taken for Half day game drive until sunset and taken back to the hotel for dinner and overnight

Day 7 – Drive back to Dar es Salaam

Wakeup early morning, have breakfast around 6:30am, and start driving back to Dar es Salaam. The journey back will be around 10 hours, you will be dropped to the airport or hotel.
