Marangu Route
Because it can be completed in fewer days and features permanent sleeping huts at the campsites, the Marangu Route, also known as the Coca Cola route, is more well-liked. Due to the ascent and descent being on the same route, Marangu is regrettably less scenic than the other routes. Due to this, it is also the busiest route.
Day 1: Marangu Gate – Mandara Hut
Elevation: 1879m – 2720m
Vegetation: Mountain Forest
After breakfast, we'll drive from Moshi to the Marangu gate of the Kilimanjaro National Park to complete the necessary formalities. The amazing tropical rain forest is where our Mount Kilimanjaro Trekking - Marangu Route - 6 Days ascent begins. We eventually arrive at the first hut at Mandara for dinner and the overnight. On this day we rest and relax in the beautiful forest surrounding the camp.
5–6 hours of walking from Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut (2,700 m).
Day 2: Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut
Elevation: 2720m – 3720m
Vegetation: Moorland
Today's trek begins with a steep ascent through a forest, but soon the trail emerges into moorland, offering spectacular views of the Kibo and Mawenzi peaks in clear weather. Mid-afternoon finds us in Horombo Hut, where you may relax and take in the breathtaking views of the area surrounding the camp.
It takes 4-6 hours to walk from Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut (3,720 m).
Day 3: Horombo Hut – Mawenzi Hut – Acclimatization Day
Elevation: 3720m
Vegetation: Moorland
Today we walk towards the Mawenzi hut, passing the Zebra Rocks, this extra day and night at Horombo are for additional acclimatization. We recommend drinking enough water and walking slowly! All meals for the day are provided at the Horrombo hut. Horombo hut for further to improve our acclimatization.
Day 4: Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut
Elevation: 4720m
Vegetation: Alpine dessert
Today, we make a very slow ascent toward the Saddle area, a lunar desert located between Mawenzi and Kibo. Up till Kibo Hut (4,700m), where we will spend the night in a comfortable hut, we will trek slowly for these 6-7 hours. At Kibo Hut, there is no running water. After a fairly early night, the rest of the day is spent relaxing in preparation for the last ascent.

Day 5: Kibo Hut – Summit – Horombo Hut
Elevation: 5895m peak, descending
Vegetation: Stone scree and Iced cape summit
Wake up before midnight in the cover of darkness. We begin a steep climb over loose volcanic scree has some well-graded zig-zags and a slow but steady pace will take us to the rim of the main crater, Gillman’s 5,685 m. We will rest there for a few minutes to enjoy the sunrise over Mawenzi. Those who are still feeling good can continue slowly to make the three-hour round trip from here along the crater rim to Uhuru peak 5,895 m. which is the highest point in Africa. After a few minutes to appreciate your accomplishment we descend to Kibo Hut is amazingly fast, and we stop at Kibo Hut for some refreshment, we continue to descend to reach Horombo Hut. Kibo Hut to Summit to Horombo Hut (3,720 m.): 13-15 hours walking.
Day 6: Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate
Elevation: Descending
Vegetation: Moorland – Mountain Forest
Today we will decend past Mandarahut to Marangu National park, successful climbers will receive their summit certificates. From here you will be transferred back to the Hotel for Dinner and overnight
Horombo Hut – Mmarangu Gate 6 – 7 hours of walking
Depending on your flight schedule and departure point you will be transferred to the Airport for your journey home, safari, or a relaxing trip to Zanzibar Beach.

The policy needs to be valid from the date that the initial order is placed so as to provide cover for a cancellation prior to departure.
